Online Texas Holdem Rules

Texas Hold’em rules are simple and easy to understand and remember. Texas Hold'em rules fit in the four-betting-rounds scheme, which distributes cards in such a way that you have some cards in your hand and there are some cards on the board.  The same as  many other gambling rules, Texas Hold'em rules dictate to play with typical 52-card deck. It can be played by only two players (going “heads up”), with the maximum number of players up to 11. Texas Hold'em rules are applied in many casinos, and are often shown on the Travel Channel’s World Poker Tour and ESPN’s World Series of Poker.

By Texas Hold’em rules, the game starts when the dealer shuffles a deck. In casinos, the dealer isn't allowed to play. A “dealer button,” disc that has a word “dealer” or  a letter “d” on it, goes clockwise from player to player with each hand. The button shows, which player would be the dealer and it indicates where the dealing is done from. The button serves to define the gaming process as it shows all the time how the deal was changed from player to player.

Preflop:

Most Texas Hold ‘Em Poker rules dictate the game beginning with the two players to the left of the dealer (the button) putting a certain sum of money into the pot before any cards are dealt, making sure that there’s something to play for on every hand ('posting the blinds'). Usually, the “first blind”  puts up half the minimum bet, and the full minimum bet is put up by the “second blind”. Each poker player receives two cards, face down (“hole cards.”)

Then goes a round of betting, beginning with the poker player to the left of the two who posted the blinds. Players have right to call, raise, or fold when it’s their turn to bet.

Flop:

The dealer discards the top card of the deck after the first betting round of Texas Hold’em. This is called burning the card and is supposed to make sure that the top card hasn't been seen by any player and to protect against cheating. Then goes the “flop”- the dealer has to flip the next three cards face up on the table.

Finally, a total of five community cards will be placed face up on the table. Any combination of the community cards and their own two hole cards can be used by Texas Hold’em players to achieve the best possible five-card Poker hand.

After the flop, another round of betting goes, starting with the player to the left of the dealer (the button). Starting with this round of betting in Texas Hold’em, players have right to check, call, raise, or fold when it’s their turn to bet.

Fourth Street (Turn):

The dealer burns another card, the forth one which is called the “turn” or “Fourth Street,” and plays one more face up onto the table. Then the player to the left of the dealer (the button) starts the third round of betting.

Fifth Street (River):

The dealer burns another card, that has the name “river” or “Fifth Street,” before placing the final face-up card on the table.

Showdown:

By Texas Hold’em rules, at the moment players can use any combination of seven cards, including one card from his pocket cards and four of the community cards, – the five community cards and the two hole cards known only to them – to achieve the best possible five-card poker hand.

The fourth and the last round of betting in Texas Hold’em Poker begins with the player to the left of the dealer who is determined with the help of the button. After this round, all players who remain in the game have to unfold. The first one to show off the hands is the player who made the initial bet or the player who made the last raise. The Texas Hold'em player with the best hand becomes the winner. If all five of the cards in the community make the best hand then everyone splits the pot, also know as  “the board plays”.  You should also remember that any moment during the game a player can fold and get out of the hand, then all bets will be lost.
